Immunizations The North Shore Health Department (NSHD) maintains an immunization program to prevent and control vaccine-preventable diseases. Under the Vaccines For Children (VFC) program, NSHD provides immunizations to children without medical insurance, on Medicaid, or on an insurance plan that does not cover vaccines. Adults who are uninsured or underinsured may also qualify to receive vaccine through NSHD. Visit our Clinics page for more information about scheduling a vaccine appointment. Additionally, NSHD works with families, schools and daycare providers to ensure enrolled children are up-to-date on their immunizations and compliant with the Wisconsin Student Immunization Law. As part of the effort to prevent influenza, NSHD provides flu immunizations through onsite immunization clinics.
